Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland Coming To The West

The latest Atelier Arland game, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is going to be releasing in North America and Europe this spring! It's great to see another Atelier game come to the West, and on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch too!

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland marked the beginning of the Arland series. And now, following the events of Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, comes an all new story. The latest title is set in a world proceeding the story of Atelier Meruru. The title depicts how characters and locations have changed over time. Set in a world both nostalgic and new, the curtain lifts on another adventure for the alchemists.

Elmerulia Fryxell (Lulua)

An impulsive, yet devoted young girl.

Rorona. That’s the name of my beloved mother.

Occupation: Alchemist

• Lulua, who wants to become an alchemist like Rorona, works hard under a certain teacher, but does not have outstanding talent. But one day, an opportunity arises for her.

An energetic girl whose body tends to act before thinking, Lulua looks at everything in a positive light. She seems to live with her teacher in a place away from Rorona.

Eva Armster

A dear childhood friend.

A girl who is always at Lulua’s side, watching over her like a guardian angel.

Occupation: Nursery School Assistant

• Although she has a quiet personality, Eva is of strong character. She does not show weakness in front of others and is very dependable, but in front of Lulua and others she trusts she reveals a side that can easily succumb to loneliness.

The system that defines the Atelier series. While maintaining a system that fans of the Arland series will be familiar with at its core, this title also continues to evolve the system.

In addition, the title extracts the essence of the system, which has continued to be cultivated, all the way up from the series’ roots to its latest numbered title. A unique melding of such elements makes possible an entirely new gaming experience.

Exploration and synthesis have also been upgraded. Places and items familiar to Arland series players will appear in great numbers. The game uses an Atelier Totori-like discovery system. As for other Arland series systems, there are several being used as a base and deepened.

Mel Kishida, the character designer of the Arland series, reprises his role for Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. Starting with Lulua, Kishida has designed new characters, and even existing characters from the Arland series will be depicted for the “continuation of the story.”
