Early Preview Shows Good WW1 Vehicles and Weapons

I like the way this game looks. It really has a foggy, grim look to it that encourages you to get up close to your opponents, even though you're in an open area. The scoped weapons don't seem to have too much range, which will be a nice change from Battlefield 4, where snipers kill you from really far away.

Looks like they're adding a lot of cool vehicles. I see a zeppelin, some biplanes, and older tanks. Airplanes look slow enough to be easily maneuvered, but fast enough to still be fun. Earlier battlefield games had jets going really fast, they made the map feel small and you didn't really have intricate dog fights.

The gameplay only comes in short segments, but it seems like the World War 1 weapons and vehicles will encourage more close quarters gunfights and battles, even though it's in an open map.

Finally, environment destruction looks a lot less scripted and a lot more calculated by the physics engine. Which means it should respond to your input a lot better than destruction did in Battlefield 4.
