Behind All The Battlefield V Controversy There's a Really Good Game
Battlefield V has mostly been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The conversation around the game hasn't actually been about what Battlefield V is.Â
Well, after reading this preview, I agree for the most part. But this very similar to what happened with EA's last Star Wars game. They had a decent game, but they buried it in microtransactions and pay to win to the point that gamers revolted. And then, EA half-heatedly said they'd fix everything, only to temporarily remove what was causing problems, change them a little bit, then re-add them.
Given how EA responded to criticism, and how they handled Star Wars Battlefront, even though it was a decent game, I don't think I'm going to have much interest in Battlefield V, even if there is a good game underneath all the controversy. EA has continually shown gamers that they will only feign trying to improve things for gamers, and then make them worse in the end.
EA has really dug themselves into a hole with Battlefield V and the controversy around it. Personally, I don't think they'll make changes that gamers want, and they'll push for things like cyborg women with robot arms in the front lines. No matter what they do, gamers and people in the gaming media aren't going to be happy with EA. And no matter how good Battlefield V is, it's going to be hurt by their controversial choices.
