The gameplay is really varied between levels. Some focus on clinging to vines, others on barrels and timing. Some are even mine cart levels where you're on mine cart rails and have to jump over specific obstacles. The atmospheres of the levels are really good too. Not as good as Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddys Kong Quest
, but they're still really good. Like most Nintendo games in the 90s, they start out in a grasslands type of area and it slowly gets more and more interesting. One of my favorite areas is the mechanical and industrial one.
