Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part One campaign DLC is coming out in October
www.thesixthaxis.comThe first part of the Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods campaign expansion has been revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, giving us a look at what the Doom Slayer is getting up to after saving Earth in the main game. The Ancient Gods Part One will be out on 20th October 2020, coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia at that time. Though the Doom Slayer was able to save Earth (um… spoilers?), his realm-hopping journey of ripping and tearing led to Hell invading Urdak and an imbalance of power. Now he’s been told to go and sort all this mess out, heading to Urdak to wrest it from demon control. Earlier this month, Bethesda announced that Doom Eternal and Elder Scrolls Online will be going next-gen. Both will be receiving an enhanced release for the next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, and will get free upgrades from current gen consoles. The timing of these upgrades is not set in stone, but will come after the new consoles launch. In the meantime, the games will work via backward compatibility, and it’s not like they really suffer from poor performance and graphics on current-gen machines. Doom Eternal is one of the early frontrunners for Game of the Year in 2020, with Miguel saying in our review: Doom Eternal doesn’t just set the bar, it breaks it. Many of the best games of the FPS genre do what has already been done, and can do it really, really well, but Doom Eternal does what no other game has done before, crafting a fast-paced power fantasy that sets your brain cells on fire. It’s an addictive exploration of the mythic Doomslayer character that delivers hours of blood-drenched fun, dozens of memorable collectibles, and a fan-pleasing story book-ended with gorgeous worlds and unforgettable music. Doom Eternal is a ripping, tearing masterpiece.
