Dragon Quest XI Will Not Get Western Release on 3DS; Nintendo Switch Version Coming "Much Later"
With the game officially heading to the West this year, Square Enix confirmed that no 3DS release is planned while the Switch version is coming much later.
As much as I loved my Nintendo 3DS, it was a shame to see some really good JRPGs released so late in the handheld's life. There were a few of them I really wanted to play, but seeing them released after the Switch, and after I have a Switch, it was a really hard sell.
I am glad they are bailing on the 3DS version. It would have held back Dragon Quest XI and I hope this means we'll see the Switch version be a bit better. I don't think it'll be as good as the Playstation 4 version, but at least it'll be a portable version of Dragon Quest if you get it on Nintendo Switch.
