Battle System

The battle system is a well done system of menus and strategy that's not slow or cumbersome. The best part is "materia", which are used in your equipment and it grants them special abilities, sometimes at the cost of other stats or by adding or removing weaknesses. When you win a battle, those materia get Ability Points that make the materia stronger. The Materia lets you adjust your play style and choose different strategies for each character. Not only do you end up leveling up your characters, but you level up your materia as well, which adds another nice layer of feeling accomplished when you level up.
