Random Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Reference

This whole thing feels really out of place. It's a serious moment where some kid's life is in danger, and he's about to be saved. And then he starts making TMNT references because the main guy is a ninja? And he random says "cowabunga"? This supposedly wasn't in the Japanese version, meaning it was added by 8-4 again. My big complaint is that it breaks the emotion of the scene and it tries to make something that should be serious light hearted.
