Comparison of female characters in Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat has always been a series designed to push the limits of blood, and gore, usually throwing in some sexy characters (both male and female) as well. Mortal Kombat 11 appears to be bringing a big change to this. Below, are the female characters from Mortal Kombat 9.

You can see they are very scantily clad, exposing a lot of skin. They also have sexually appealing bodies. While the original Mortal Kombat games focused more on controversial blood and gore, once the series was on consoles stronger than 16-bit, they became more and more sexual. Mortal Kombat 4 had some revealing characters (both a male in very revealing outfit, multiple males with shirts off, and a lightly dressed female as well). Most Mortal Kombat games have followed this pattern. Below, are the females of Mortal Kombat 11.

As you can see, female characters are now much more dressed, and quite honestly, far less attractive looking than in Mortal Kombat 9 (and previous Mortal Kombat games). This is a big departure from previous Mortal Kombat games, and it would not be the first case of fans of a series rejecting changes like this if it were to happen.

As you can see, the male models still retain their sexuality, you can even find low testosterone game journalists fawning over how cool this specific male character is if you search the internet. But there is definitely a stark difference in the effort put into males and females to make them look attractive.
