www.thesixthaxis.comDeveloper Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack have announced Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition, a remastered version of their take on the soulslike genre coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 4th March. Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition will be free for existing owners on PS4 and Xbox One, and available with a new physical release of the game. Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition takes the already rather good looking game and revises it to take advantage of the added power and new capabilities of the new generation of games console. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X you can expect upgraded textures, a sharp 4K resolution and locked 60fps performance. It’s not clear where the Xbox Series S stands from Cold Symmetry’s statement. The game on PlayStation 5 will look to take advantage of the DualSense controller’s new features. Whispering sounds will come from the controller’s speaker as the haptic feedback mimics a heartbeat whe you approach a new Shell, and they will also mark the use of the harden mechanic in the palm of your hands. This will be priced at £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 and available this spring across North America and Europe. We had a great time with the original release of the game, playing it on PC. In our Mortal Shell review, Jason said: Mortal Shell is just an incredibly satisfying experience. It’ll punish you constantly, but if you can master the mechanics it lays out in front of you then you’ll have an incredible time of things. The lore is a little more obvious that in other soulslikes, and the story it tells and the world it puts you in are both rather enthralling. This is definitely a game that fans of dying a lot will enjoy, but it’s probably not for everyone. Source: press release
