Octopath Traveler - Paths of Ritual and Research Trailer - Nintendo Switch

They're really hyping this game, and it feels like it's just a lot of what's already been done. Octopath Traveler does look good if you're into more traditional JRPG type games. There are some interesting ideas, like being able to have 8 people in your team and being able to experience each story in the first play through. Though I can't help but feel like a lot of Octopath Traveler has already been done in RPGs, a lot.

I feel like this would be a good game to play when I run out of RPGs to play, but that there would be better ones out there to play before that. And I don't really enjoy the art style. It's a weird mix of 3d and sprites, and everything is a bit too dark for my tastes.

We'll see, from this trailer for Octopath Traveler, it looks like a game I'd be interested in trying, but it's not exactly something that I'm going to buy on day one.
