The graphics look good, but the rest, I'm not so sure. The music seems sort of annoying, at least the battle theme. And coloring the spots looks really tedious. There are some interesting things, like jumping on an enemy to skip the battle. But a lot of this is just walking to different rooms and watching stuff happen. But, a redeeming feature of the paint seems to be that you can use it to find secrets and unlock parts of the story. The text is really wordy, it sounds like it's trying to be too serious and not light hearted enough, like earlier games.

My feelings are mixed, but overall, I'm not excited about it. It seems like a step up from Paper Mario: Sticker Star. But as far as Mario RPGs go, it even feels behind Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, which was released a long time ago on Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
