Phantasy Star 1 was an alright game. By today's standards, it isn't exactly amazing and I'd only recommend it for hardcore JRPG fans for its historical significance, but it can be fun despite the fact that the gameplay isn't all that engaging and the story isn't very prevalent. It has definitely aged better than Phantasy Star 2.
