Why exp share is being removed

gameFreak didn't really give a solid reason why. I always played with exp share off, because it made playing through the story a bit more difficult. But gameFreak has removed the feature from Pokemon sword and Pokemon shield. They didn't really give a valid reason, but gameFreak claims now that if you don't want exp share enabled, you can just put your Pokemon in the storage. There is now no way to turn it off without putting your Pokemon away.

This seems like a huge disappoint for me and it's kind of an arrogant answer.
