Is The Ink Mine Buff Enough? - Splatoon 2 4.0.0 Update

0

Vasko Games covers the recent updates to Splatoon 2. Most of the changes were bug fixes, but most importantly, the bloblobber was nerfed and Ink Mines received some huge buffs.

Ink Mines, which have usually been one of the weakest subweapons, have received a lot of buffs. After you hit the limit of Ink Mines you can have out, the first one you put down will explode now, instead of just disappearing. This is pretty cool, you can use it as a distraction or some more things, no doubt.

They also do more damage. Previously, Ink Mines used to do 35 damage if you stepped directly on it, and 20 with the blast radius. Now, stepping on an Ink Mine will deal 45 damage, and the splash radius does 35 damage. That's a huge difference and a huge buff to Ink Mines. Because of these changes, you can do 70 damage to someone with two close by ink mines if they are caught between them, which means you generally only need one shot to finish them off.
