Being the first Mario entry in 3D would've made someone think the mechanics haven't aged well. Yet, despite its age, Mario 64 has some if not the best movement in the entire 3D series. Movement is slick and responsive, with a variety of moves given right off the bat, allowing one to traverse across the field with surprising ease. The variety of jumps - long jump, triple jump, directional-change jump and crouch jump make movement a breeze.
