Super Mario Party - E3 2018 Gameplay [HD]
Mario Party as a series has been all over the place. Personally, I really enjoyed the earlier ones on Nintendo 64, but I felt like the longer they went on, the more they added a bunch of gimmicks and changes that made Mario Party games worse and worse.
Looking at the game play of Super Mario Party from E3 2018, it looks like Mario Party is going back to its roots. The good news starts already when they say all items are found on the board.
Board size in Super Mario Party looks to be a decent size. The first map they play in Super Mario Party looks a little bit smaller than a Mario Party 64 map, which is a good size, I think.
Each character has their own dice. They can choose between the standard one that goes from one through six, or different dices have different numbers on them. One of the extreme cases is Bowser's dice, which have the sides -3, -3, 1, 8, 9, 10. You can always go back and use a standard 1-6 dice though. But it's a basic way to change the strategy of the game without making major changes like adding a car.
How many mini-games will Super Mario Party have? This video is claiming there's 80, which is a good number. Looking at the mini-games shown off in Super Mario Party, it looks like they are all of decent length.
Check out the full video, this looks very much like a traditional Mario Party game, going back to the series roots. Which is great news, this could be a ton of fun.
