No Random Battles

A lot of good 90s JRPGs had problems with random battles. You would walk around and without anything showing on the screen, you'd just be thrown into a battle. It really hampers exploring because you would constantly be fighting enemies. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars shows the enemies on screen, so you can avoid them. And you don't get thrown into rooms with an endless supply of enemies that keep attacking you randomly.
The icing on the cake is that it seems to remember when you've defeated an enemy, even if you've left the room. So, if you go into one room, defeat all the enemies, then end up back in it, they're still gone. You can get them back though, I think you need to just leave the whole stage you're in and come back (so you can grind if you need to).
