Rumor: Super Smash Bros. on Switch Bringing Back These Characters
Supposed 'industry insider' Marcus Sellars makes some claims about Super Smash Bros. for the Switch, potentially revealing some the roster's returning characters.
Most importantly, Ice Climbers are rumored for a return. Ice Climbers in Smash Bros were always my favorite characters, at least in Melee and Brawl, and I was really sad to see them cut. They had a really cool mechanic of having your character and an AI controlled partner, and how you'd have an advantage with both of them but be severely limited if your partner was lost. Ice Climbers were removed because the Nintendo 3DS couldn't handle them, and they wanted the Wii U and 3DS versions of Smash to have the same characters. Instead of Ice Climbers, Smash Bros For Wii U got 8 player matches.
There's also rumors that the single player will be revamped, and focus more on two player coop. Smash 4 had a really weak single player mode, Smash Tour on Wii U was not well received and the classic mode was pretty lame too.
I don't like how they are saying they'll be a lot of third parties. I was hoping we'd see some revival of more obscure Nintendo characters, but hopefully we can still see that alongside some third party reps.
