The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Is Coming To The West
In spring of 2020, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III will be coming to the West on the Nintendo Switch. This is a big departure as The Legend of Heroes has usually been only on PlayStation and PC. Speaking of which, there is no rumor of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III coming to PC in the West yet.
Localization will be handled by NISA, another departure from normal as usually XSEED localizes games in The Legend of Heroes series. It'll be interesting to see what sort of changes NISA brings to The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. They are well known for making jarring changes sometimes.
A demo for the Nintendo Switch has been confirmed. It's not out yet, but it should be released sometime before the game officially launches in Spring 2020.
The Nintendo Switch version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is claimed to be locked at 720p and 30fps.
No word yet on The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV coming to the West or on Nintendo Switch. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV has been out in Japan for over a year by now. Hopefully we see more Nihon Falcom games brought over. Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo has stated he hopes to bring more Nihon Falcom games to a wider audience, which includes more localization options.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III has taken a while to localize. The story is quite deep and there's a lot of translations to make.
