Watch Dogs Legion is out on 29th October - see the new gameplay overview trailer here
www.thesixthaxis.comAfter more than a few delays, Watch Dogs Legion finally has a release date. The game will be out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 29th October. The game will also be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with Smart Delivery confirmed for the Xbox ecosystem. Check out the new gameplay overview trailer, demoing a few missions and the many playstyles in the game: The footage from a short film by Alberto Mielgo starts with a member of Dead Sec holding up a corner shop, before being chased through the streets by a number of heavily armed police officers. All this is intercut with dialogue which covers protests across London and how the government has tried to silence protestors, journalists and street artists. This visual trailer also gives us an idea of gameplay beats as our escaping protagonists flies through the air on a hovercraft before jumping into one of London’s iconic red busses and catching a free ride. We also catch a glimpse of what could be a potential hideout for Dead Sec, with then escaping protagonist making their way to a pub filled with other resistance member – very fitting for the UK! This new gameplay also brings with it our first look at Legion’s villains. Private military company Albion is introduced first alongside its brutal and violent owner Nigel Cass. Albion are heavily armed and are likely to play an active role in many of the game’s other shootouts. We are also introduced to Mary Kelly, the owner of London’s biggest crime syndicate. Mary and her subordinates sell objects and people on the dark web, but how she fits into the game’s story is unknown. The trailer also focuses heavily on character system, showing us new characters to play with and how each one can carry unique weapons or tools. Mission gameplay shows that a construction worker may have access to tools like a sledgehammer or a nail gun, and this kind of gameplay extends to the numerous other professions in the world. Your character choice is very much driven by how you want to play Watch Digs Legion. Want to play stealthily? Recruit a drone expert. Looking to go in with some guns, there’s a hitman who looks suspiciously like John Wick. Heck, you can still play as a granny should you wish! While we’re still yet to see who the main villain is and some of the specifics of the story, this reveal gets us a little bit closer to travelling Ubisoft’s rendition of London in Watch Dogs Legion.
