Nichegamer definitely didn't enjoy their time with YIIK. Some of their largest complaints are about the characters. The main character is a spoiled hipster who is unaware of how good he has everything. Basically, everyone in YIIK annoyed NicheGamer. Reading some of this dialogue, I can see why. There's no way I could relate to someone like this.
There's a lot of dialogue, like a lot that gets seriously convoluted and goes way off track.
The theme of this games seems to be convolution. NicheGamer explained how you level up, and it involves finding a save point, entering another map, doing some tedious things, talking to an NPC, and more.
Be sure to read the whole review. YIIK got a lot of attention from the usual crowd, but it seems like the game really has a lot of problems.
