Hardware: Controller
The controller is rather lackluster when compared to its predecessor, the Saturn controller. The Dreamcast controllers have decent triggers, a rather flimsy analog stick and a pretty bad D-pad. The buttons aren't too bad, they don't get stuck even with a lot of use. The cord is also annoyingly short making the cord extender a must have. The VMU is an interesting aspect of the controller, making saves portable but its in-game use tends to be rather gimmicky/useless. Some games use it as a way to show your health or use it as radar of sorts. The controller also feels oddly light but its not particularly comfortable in one's hands. They dropped the ball with the controller. Thankfully adapters exist allowing one to use PS2 or Saturn controllers on the Dreamcast.
